Aunque sé que os han mandado circular con las instrucciones para los horarios del día 22 no está de más que os lo recordemos por el blog.

Los niños que van a comer a casa saldrán a las 13h

A los niños de comedor se les puede venir a recoger hasta las 15h.

Ese día NO HABRÁ ACTIVIDADES EXTRAESCOLARES.

Ese día recibiréis por correo electrónico el boletín de notas del primer trimestre.

Aprovecho para desearos a todos unas Felices Fiestas y  que el Nuevo Año venga cargado de salud, paz y armonía.

CENTRO DE INTERPRETACIÓN DE LA NATURALEZA MONTECARMELO

Los días 14 y 15 de diciembre hicimos una visita al CIN Montecarmelo. 

Fue estupendo volver a ir todos juntos de excursión y aprender sobre el espacio natural del Monte del Pardo.

Aprendimos costumbres y hábitos de varias especies en peligro de extinción que viven ahí, como la cigüeña negra, el búho real y el águila imperial entre otros. Además trabajamos los sentidos para reconocer con ellos distintos elementos.

CIN MONTECARMELO

SEMANA DE LA DISCAPACIDAD 2021

 La semana del 29 de noviembre al 3 de diciembre celebramos la Semana de la Discapacidad.

El lunes 29 vinieron dos voluntarios de AMEB (Asociación Madrileña de Espina Bífida) y estuvimos haciendo juegos y actividades con las que aprendimos qué es la espina bífida.

En las clases de Lengua leímos un libro sobre la vida de Frida Kahlo donde aprendimos, además de arte, cómo la artista superó su dolor a través del arte. Luego hicimos dos posters super chulos sobre su vida y obra. En el siguiente enlace podéis ver algunas fotos.

NAVIDAD/CHRISTMAS 2021

 Desde el viernes 17 y hasta el miércoles 22 vamos a celebrar la Navidad con distintos adornos y atuendos.

SEMANA DE LAS EXPERIENCIAS CIENTÍFICAS

 La semana del 8 al 12 de noviembre participamos todos en las experiencias científicas para celebrar la Semana de las Experiencias Científicas.

Primero, vimos qué es la electricidad estática y la comprobamos moviendo las alas de una mariposa con un globo de goma. Aquí os dejo las fotos para que podáis recordarlo.

In Social Science we are learning about our world.

The first thing is orientation and for that we have the COMPASS ROSE with the four CARDINAL POINTS: North (N), South (S), East (E) and West (W)

Here you have the song you all like so much. Now it's up to you to practise.

Once we can get the right orientation, we can learn about the world with the help of a GLOBE or a MAP. 

Let's see the difference between them!!!

We also know that there are different maps: political maps, relief or physical maps, road maps, transport maps and many more.

 We are also learning to read maps. I hope this video will help you a little bit.

DISFRACES HALLOWEEN

Esta semana celebramos Halloween en el cole.

Como ya sabréis por la circular que os han mandado, desde la clase de inglés trabajaremos durante toda la semana la temática de Halloween y el viernes 29 será la celebración de todos juntos en las zonas del patio de recreo durante las dos últimas sesiones de la jornada escolar. Haremos juegos y cantaremos.

El viernes 29 es también el día de los disfraces. Los niños/as que quieran, pueden venir disfrazados desde casa. No hay temática específica pero quería indicaros que los disfraces pueden ser muy diversos. En los países anglosajones es el día de ir disfrazados de lo que sea y el disfraz puede variar desde princesa hasta momia o de vaquero a zombie.

Sí os rogamos que no vengan caracterizados de personajes violentos y que tengáis cuidado con los complementos para que la celebración sea un momento de alegría y compañerismo entre todos.

Os recomiendo que comprobéis que vuestro hijo/a apunta debidamente la CONTRASEÑA en la agenda por si tuviera que hacer uso de ella.

Espero que este curso no tengamos muchos problemas y podáis acceder a los libros sin problema.

PRÉSTAMO DE LIBROS DEL PROGRAMA ACCEDE

Estimadas familias: 

    De nuevo me pongo en contacto con vosotros para informaros sobre la entrega de libros del programa de préstamo ACCEDE.

    Ya habréis visto que hoy se han llevado los libros a casa junto con dos hojas con el nombre del alumno/a. Una de las dos hojas es vuestra, la otra la tenéis que devolver firmada a la tutora correspondiente.

    Por favor, como les hemos dicho a vuestros hijos/as comprobad que están en buen estado y ponerles el nombre visible por fuera. Si el forro de algún libro no estuviera en buen estado os rogaría que lo forrarais de nuevo.

WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL YEAR 2021/2022!!! ¡¡¡BIENVENIDOS AL CURSO 2021/2022!!!

 

    Estimadas familias:

    Nos ponemos en contacto con vosotros para daros la bienvenida al nuevo Curso Escolar 2021/22. 

Somos las nuevas tutoras de vuestros hijos en 3º EP: Eugenia Rengifo (3º A) que impartiré las asignaturas de inglés, naturales, sociales y valores, y Pilar Morales (3º B) que impartiré las asignaturas de lengua y matemáticas.

De antemano, deciros que podéis contar con nosotras para todo lo relacionado con la educación de vuestros hijos.

 En este último curso del primer ciclo de Educación Primaria nos ponemos como objetivo la adquisición de una buena base académica para el siguiente ciclo sin olvidarnos de su desarrollo emocional.

Este curso no habrá cooperativa así que os damos el listado del material escolar básico:

    1. Estuche con dos lapiceros, 1 lápiz bicolor, regla pequeña, goma de borrar y sacapuntas, lápices de colores, rotuladores, pegamento en barra y tijeras.

 

   2. Una carpeta tamaño folio para guardar las circulares, fichas de trabajo, etc.

 

     3. Cuatro cuadernos de espiral tamaño folio de estos colores y pautas:

 

 Rojo para mates de cuadrícula 5 x 5

 Azul para lengua de pauta 2,5

  Verde para ciencias de cuadrícula 5 x 5

  Amarillo para inglés de pauta horizontal (una línea)

 

   4. Un cuaderno de música con el pentagrama grande (Música básico 4)

 

    5.  Los alumnos de religión un cuaderno pequeño, tamaño cuartilla.

Teniendo en cuenta que seguimos con el protocolo Covid es también importante que lleven siempre una mascarilla de recambio, pañuelos de papel, un botecito con gel hidroalcohólico y su botella de agua.

Utilizaremos la agenda escolar como principal medio de comunicación, aunque os dejamos nuestros correos electrónicos por si fuera necesario:

Hemos hecho un montón de actividades variadas y nos hemos divertido muchísimo aunque hemos echado de menos a los que no estaban.

La idea era pasar un día de ocio todos juntos y pasarlo en grande.

ANCIENT HISTORY ON THE IBERIAN PENINSULA

We are ending the school year and in Social Science we are learning History to be precise we are learning about the things than happened here on the Iberian Peninsula.

We all know that we were Celtiberians but apart from that we have met the different people that came to the peninsula like the Greeks, the Phoenicians and the Carthaginians. 

In the following video you can remember the differences between all the people living here thousands of years ago.

As the Celts were very good metal workers and warriors, many other people came to look for metals but some came to trade and they decided to stay and form some colonies. The next video explains very well who those people were and where they came from.

The last of these people to come were the Romans but they came to stay and we began to be part of the Roman Empire. The following video explains very nicely how this happened. The Roman Conquest of Hispania

EL TELÉGRAFO Y EL CÓDIGO MORSE

El viernes 21 tuvimos una actividad extraescolar que resultó chulísima. ¡Nos comunicamos a través de un telégrafo!

Gracias a la ayuda de Elena, la madre de Irati, pudimos contar con un telégrafo casero para mandarnos mensajes en código Morse. Bueno, en realidad eran 6 telégrafos, uno que enviaba y otro que recibía en cada clase.

Al principio tuvimos un poco de follón con los cables y las conexiones. Por cierto que los cables nos los proporcionó Abraham, el padre de Jimena. 

Gracias al pequeño lío pudimos poner en práctica el Método Científico: prueba, ensayo, error y observar, sobre todo observar. Finalmente, todos pudimos mandar nuestro mensaje y recibir el mensaje de nuestra clase vecina.

4º A le envió a 4º B el siguiente mensaje: "Nos vemos en quinto"

4º B le envió a 4º C el siguiente: "A, B y C nos vemos otra vez!

4º C le dijo a 4º A "Os echamos de menos"

THE INVENTION OF THE TELEGRAPH

This week we are all going to send a message from our class to our neighbouring class with the help of Elena, Irati's mum. Thank you Elena!!!

The machine we are going to use is the telegraph. Here you have some information to learn more about this great invention of communication.

The telegraph is a device for communicating over a distance. It uses electricity to send coded messages through wires. In the middle of the 1800s the telegraph was the fastest way to communicate over long distances.

An  American artist and inventor named Samuel F.B. Morse created Morse Code in the 1830s. Before his invention, an important message could take weeks to reach its destination. Morse Code and the telegraph allowed people to receive information sent from far away in just minutes. Newspapers, railroads, and businesses used the code and the telegraph to send news quickly from one city to another.

Morse Code uses dots, dashes, and spaces to represent letters, punctuation, and numbers. The symbols are arranged to spell out a message. A telegraph converts the symbols into electrical signals and sends them across a wire to their destination. The signals are then converted back into the message by the telegraph that receives them.

Here you have two videos. The first one explains the invention of the Morse Code and the second one is a song to learn easy the Morse alphabet.

FORCES: push and pull; contact and non-contact; gravity and magnetism; weight; upthrust

 This term we have begun learning about forces. There are two basic forces that make things move or stand still.

These are PUSH and PULL.

 Here you have a very simple video that explains them easily.

We have also learnt that there are two types of forces: CONTACT and NON-CONTACT forces. In the following video you can learn more about forces, work and energy with the help of Dr Binocs. 

We have also studied two non-contact forces: GRAVITY and MAGNETISM.

Magnets are objects that attract or repel other objects that contain iron or steel. Here you have another video by Dr Binocs explaining magnetism

Gravity is a pull force noticeable with very large objects such as planets. Watch the following video to learn more.

The first person to talk about this force was Isaac Newton, a scientist and mathematician that explained many laws in Nature. Here you have a video about him.

Gravity is related to mass and weight. We already know that mass is the amount of matter in an object and we measure it in kilograms (kg) or grams (g). However, weight is a force that depends on the mass an object has and we measure it in newtons (N). It may be a little bit complicated so I hope this simple video will help you to see the difference.

Finally, we are going to talk about a contact force applied by water and air: UPTHRUST. This force pushes objects in air and water up. So it is opposite to gravity.

 The upthrust depends on the mass and the volume the object has that is why some objects float and some others sink. 

An ancient Greek scientist called Archimedes discovered this upthrust force more than 2,000 years ago while having a bath. Here you have a video that explains this easily. 

ROCKS

 In Social Science we continue learning about rocks.

Before talking about rocks I'd like you to review something you learnt in 2nd grade: THE LAYERS OF THE EARTH.

Some of these layers are closely related to rocks: the crust and the mantle. 

Here you have a video by Dr Binocs  that has become a friend of ours in the class.

We all know that there are different types of rocks. 

In the next video, you will understand the CLASSIFICATION OF ROCKS.

MATTER AND ITS PROPERTIES

 In Natural Science we are learning about MATTER.

We already know that matter is everything around us, that is, everything around us is made of matter.

Matter has some properties that define it: volume, mass and density.

We can measure volume (㎤), mass (g) and density (g/㎤).

 Matter can be in any of the three states we know: solid, liquid or gas.

 In Social Science we are learning many things about minerals and rocks. 

I have chosen several videos I know you are going to enjoy.

Diamonds are the hardest minerals on Earth. So here you have a special video that shows you their characteristics and properties.

HEALTH AND MEDICINE

In Natural Science we are becoming familiar with  medicine discoveries to help people not to get ill or to cure them once they are ill.

Though there are many scientists and many discoveries, we are going to see some general ideas through some easy videos.

 I hope you like them and you learn a little bit more apart from the contents in your book.

We all know that vaccines are necessary and help us prevent very serious illnesses caused by virus. The first vaccine was discovered in 1796 by Edward Jenner. Here you have two videos in connection with the origin of vaccines and how they work.

We are also learning a little bit about antibiotics that help us cure infections caused by bacteria.

The first antibiotic to be discovered was penicillin. Penicillin was discovered not so long ago, in 1928, by Alexander Fleming.

In the first video you are going to find out a little bit about Alexander Fleming and his discovery. In the second video you will learn something about how antibiotics work.

We just began 2021 with a lot of snow. So much so that we can't go to school yet. Let's see if we can all be together on Wednesday the 13th.

This course we began 4th grade reading a story in Spanish titled "Hasta que podamos abrazarnos". We all liked it very much and we even have a wonderful display in our hall. Here you have the photo of what we all did together.

Well, well in Christmas time a good friend of mine wrote to me. She's an excellent English teacher that worked with me for many years and now she's back home but she has a story corner  in Youtube and I chose to begin this new year reading again this beautiful story but in English. Hope you enjoy!
